53rd Reunion Ball (11 June 2005)

This year, Sheffield University celebrated its Centenary. As part of the University-wide celebrations, the SHA played its part by holding a Ball in place of the usually smaller annual Reunion Dinner.

Special Guided Tour of Chatsworth House (22nd May 2004)

We have arranged a guided tour of Chatsworth House for the morning of Saturday 22nd May. Before opening to the general public, we will have a special guided tour of the property. After the tour we can visit the remainder of the house and gardens at our leisure, possibly stopping for cream teas or lunch in the restaurant.

The cost is just £17.00 - Bargin!

If you would like any more information, or to book please email president@stevo.org.uk. (Adam Metcalf)

52nd Reunion Weekend (12th June 2004)

This year's event is set to be bigger and better than last year, with more events - like a casino. We are hoping to attract more current residents this year with an increase in the annual Travel Award, where the three finalists will be attending to discover the winner - and collect the winnings of course!

Burton Brewery Tour (10th September 2004)

A whole day to visit some of the breweries in Burton-upon-Trent. Mid-morning on Friday, we will meet at our hotel and base for the day in Burton. After checking-in we will have a light lunch followed by a visit to Marston's Brewery for a behind the scenes tour, and a number of samples from the bar. Afterwards, we will move down the road to The Coors Visitor Centre (formally the Bass Museum of Brewing). Here we will follow the history of brewing in the UK and Burton-upon-Trent. After our history lesson, we will have a guided tour of the Coors Brewery (renamed after Coors bought out Bass) and another chance to sample the produce. We will then retire to a local pub for dinner, and maybe a few more samples of the local brews... before retiring for the evening.

Costs will be finalised nearer the time, but are likely to be ~£25 + accommodation (and drinks) lunch is included

If you would like any more information, or to book please email president@stevo.org.uk. (Adam Metcalf)

49th Reunion Meal (9th June 2001)

48th Reunion Dinner (10th June 2000)

Much partying!

The evening of Saturday 10th June 2000 was the 48th Stephenson Hall Reunion Dinner. It was good to see more numbers than last year with a lot of the latest members of hall present. Everybody seemed to enjoy the food and the company.

Roderick Smith made his last speech as Warden and encouraged everybody to fill in the forms provided on each table to join stevo.org.uk and to return again next year for the 50th Reunion Dinner.

There were presentations to the members of staff who have over the years made Stephenson Hall one of the most popular and well thought of halls of residence in Sheffield such as Hall Secretary Pam Swinden and the Warden's wife.

The meal ended as usual with the famous words - 'the bar is now open'. There was also karaoke after the meal in the bar with many current and former members of hall taking part.

If anybody has any other photos or stories from the night they would be most appreciated. Please email them to webmaster@stevo.org.uk. (SR)

47th Reunion Dinner (12th June 1999)

A much lower attendance this year. So much so that that we only used one half of the hall. Especially notable was the small number of older members - the short notice, due to a delay in sending out the newsletter, probably being a major factor.

In spite of a disappointing turnout it proved a welcome opportunity to meet everybody once again. (TDB)
